He started his professional career at one of the country’s leading literary agencies working in foreign rights for some of the world’s most recognized best-selling authors. Fifteen years of marketing, editorial, and business development work followed, with partners and employers as diverse as Disney, Random House, Little Brown, Macmillan, Fantagraphics, Gemstone, Archie Comics, and many more. He has started up tiny non-profit magazines, fine-tuned giant corporate publishing programs, edited first novels, created marketing departments from scratch, and generally toiled to ensure a continued place for great books in the world. Letter Better is Jesse’s dream team of designers, copyeditors, typographic artists, illustrators, and publicists who have worked for every Big Six publisher, media company, and comic book publisher in the business. Our collective expertise, love of books, and affable good spirits make for the most comprehensive publishing service and friendliest helper elves you’re likely to find.

WE’RE AFFORDABLE

If you’ve already been around the block a few times with self-published projects, you’re probably exhausted from high hourly rates and sticker shock invoices. We charge flat fees based on the amount of things we have to do, the depth of the work, and the presumed amount of time it will take. We’ve found this keeps our rates within industry norms while reassuring cost-conscious self-publishers that there will be one price to pay at the end that has already been budgeted. We also scale our rates according to the end goal of the project, knowing full well the difference between a self-published mini-comic and a new YA fantasy trilogy going up against Harry Potter.
